EDWIN MCGUINN

 
 

Ed serves as The Alan S. Harris Group’s, Vice Chairman responsible for leading the development and delivery of new products and services to enhance the effectiveness of organizations, their processes and their people.  Ed brings over 35 years of experience in executive management with companies across several industry areas. Ed’s experience spans the management of public and private companies in financial services, internet marketing and business services at the Chairman, CEO and divisional management level.
 
Most recently, Ed was Chairman and CEO of MRU Holdings, Inc. (MyRichUncle.com) a public educational finance company targeted to undergraduate and graduate students. It was the first company to utilize a direct to consumer strategy utilizing a unique origination and underwriting system. Prior to that, Ed was the President of eLot Inc. (formerly Executone) a public company whose primary focus was the development of telephony services, e-commerce and integrated network management systems for industrial, consumer, and governmental services. Ed also has been CEO to two financial services startups focusing on electronic fixed income trading and decision management software
 
Additionally, Ed was Head of the Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Finance divisions for two investment banking boutiques specializing in consumer services, health care and technology and was a Managing Director and Member of Lehman Brothers Capital Markets Operating Committee.  While at Lehman Brothers, Ed was responsible for developing Lehman’s global presence in domestic fixed income arbitrage and domestic and international fixed income sales, trading and research.
 
Ed was a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young in the audit and management consulting division and advised senior client management and their Boards of Directors on strategic planning, risk management, and hierarchical structure.
 
Ed presently sits on the Board of Directors of eLOT, Inc. and the advisory boards of Race Rock Capital, a venture capital company, and Sevara Partners LLC a company specializing in financial restructuring. Ed has also lectured extensively on the topics of corporate governance and best business practices for the financial services industry and is actively involved with Greenwich Youth Lacrosse and several Colgate University related organizations.
 
Ed received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from Colgate University and a Master of Science in Accounting from New York University.  He holds NASD Series 7, 8, and 24 licenses along with a CPA license from the State of New York. He and his wife Donna reside in Greenwich, CT.
